Description

It may seem like something new to purify your drinking water with a stick of charcoal, but the Japanese have been doing it for centuries. Binchotan is an activated charcoal made from Japanese oak and is known for its ability to soften water, soften chlorine levels, add good minerals and absorb unwanted tastes, odors and heavy metals.

Usage and benefits of Binchotan Charcoal Sticks

  • No more plastic bottles or expensive filters
  • 2 sticks per year needed
  • After 3 months re-activate in an easy way
  • Must-have for traveling!
  • Purifies tap water from chemicals such as mercury, lead, chlorine, and copper.
  • Does not cause allergic or irritating reactions.

How it works

Your charcoal stick is ready to use. Simply fill your bottle/jug with potable (drinkable) tap water and wait for the charcoal to filter out impurities from the water. Letting the process run its course overnight is ideal, but even after an hour you will taste the difference!

How long does it work?

Over time you will notice a reduction in the effectiveness of the filter on water taste. You can recharge the charcoal by boiling it in water for ten minutes. The boiling washes away the impurities and frees the charcoal to absorb some more. This gives the Binchotan charcoal a total life of six months.

If your Charcoal Stick floats

Charcoal may float because it is made up of layers that can absorb air. To solve this, boil the charcoal for 15 minutes and the air bubbles will escape!

Fun fact

In the 20th century, scientists began to study the benefits of Binchotan and its properties. They figured that next to positive effects in the gut and stomach, charcoal is very effective in the environment; adsorbing gases from the atmosphere, electromagnetic waves, radio frequencies. Binchotan creates “good energy” by releasing negative ions. Negative ions are atoms that carry a negative electrical charge that attracts positive ions in the air, such as carbon dioxide molecules. An excessive amount of positive ions in the environment can impair respiratory function and cause fatigue. Binchotan absorbs these positive ions and instead releases the negative ions that occur in natural energy, such as waves, waterfalls, and thunderstorms.
